NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday released ‘Paving the Path to Viksit Bharat‘, a booklet outlining the key achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in the first 100 days of its third term. Shah also released eight flyers depicting the government’s accomplishments in development, security, and welfare.
In a press briefing, Shah remarked on PM Modi’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy.”Modi ji was born in a poor family, and today, 15 different countries have awarded him their highest honours. This has not only elevated the pride of our Prime Minister but also of the entire nation,” he said.
Shah credited the government’s long tenure to its focus on development, security, and uplifting the underprivileged under PM Modi’s leadership for the past decade.
Shah further said, “For the first time in 60 years, there is political stability in the country. Leading the country into the 11th year, with policies that continue to meet expectations and are implemented with both speed and precision, is a remarkable achievement”.
Security and defence
Shah noted that in the past 10 years, the Modi government has made major efforts to ensure India’s internal and external security. “We have achieved great success in building a safe India by strengthening the country’s defence system,” he said.
Education policy
He further praised Modi’s efforts to modernise education by introducing a new education policy that blends ancient educational values with contemporary knowledge. This, Shah said, “has made India a preferred global destination for production and development.”
The Union home minister also highlighted the government’s focus on youth empowerment, claiming that India’s youth are now equipped to compete on a global level because of various educational and skill development initiatives.
Welfare for the underprivileged
Shah also turned attention to the welfare initiatives that have benefited the country’s underprivileged population. Over the past decade, the government has provided housing, electricity, drinking water, and healthcare to over 60 crore citizens. “Our goal is to ensure every Indian has a home within the next five years”, he said.
Agriculture and farmer support
On the agricultural front, Shah praised the Modi government’s initiatives to enhance food security, bringing India close to self-sufficiency. He underscored the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’, which has provided Rs 20,000 crore to 9.5 crore farmers, and noted that a total of Rs 3 lakh crore has been distributed since the scheme was initiated.
Green energy and infrastructure
Shah also pointed to the ‘Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme’, which has brought solar energy to over 2.5 lakh households, as part of the government’s focus on green energy. He also outlined the capital expenditure projects worth Rs 11 lakh crore aimed at creating job opportunities, with 12 industrial zones under development to boost employment for India’s youth.

The Modi government has facilitated the formation of over 90 lakh self-help groups under the ‘Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana’, with 11 lakh women now earning at least Rs 1 lakh annually through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme. Shah mentioned new initiatives like ‘Paryatan Didi’, which aim to involve women in tourism, and efforts to link tech-savvy youth with various sectors.
Tribal welfare
For tribal communities, Shah highlighted the ‘Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan’, aimed at developing 63,000 tribal villages and improving the livelihoods of five crore tribal people.

According to Shah, major judicial reforms are underway, with the introduction of three new laws: the ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’ (BNS), ‘Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita’ (BNSS), and ‘Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam’ (BSA). These laws replace colonial-era criminal codes and aim to make India’s justice system more accessible and efficient.
Looking ahead, Shah also stressed government’s vision for future developments, including advancing semiconductor manufacturing, celebrating India’s achievements in space, and signing peace agreements with insurgent groups in Tripura.
