JAMMU: The second batch of 4,029 pilgrims started from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar base for Amarnath Yatra via the twin routes of 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam and 14-km Baltal amid tight security on Saturday.
“2,179 pilgrims, comprising 1,670 men, 332 women, 2 children, 144 sadhus, and 31 sadhvis left for Nunwan-Pahalgam base camp; while 1,850 pilgrims, comprising 1,265 men, 448 women, 19 children, 87 sadhus, and 31 sadhvis left for Baltal Base camp,” a shrine board official said.
J&K L-G Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims in Jammu on Friday.
