NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called Congress a “parasite” and also accused the grand old party of spreading anarchy in the country.
“If you analyse the results of just-concluded Lok Sabha results, you will see that where the Congress fought alone it could not win many seats. But in states where the grand old party piggybacked on other parties, it made considerable gains,” PM Modi said.”This shows that Congress now eats away the votes of parties with which it associates like a parasite,” he added.
Replying to a two-day debate on the President’s address to both houses of Parliament, PM Modi unleashed an all-out attack against the Congress and also took digs at the grand old party.
“The Congress has failed to cross the 100-mark in Lok Sabha elections for third time in a row,” PM Modi said and added “This is the third biggest loss for the grand old party.”
“People of the country have given a mandate for the Congress to sit in the opposition,” the Prime Minister said.
