As the Prime Minister responded to the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address in Lok Sabha, several opposition MPs stormed the Well, shouting and raising slogans against him throughout his speech.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared a video showing Rahul Gandhi gesturing to opposition MPs while the Prime Minister continued his speech.
“What Balak Buddhi Rahul Gandhi did yesterday is neither surprising nor new. His mother Sonia Gandhi would do the same. to heckle Prime Minister Vajpayee… But Mr Modi is no Vajpayee and Rahul isn’t Sonia either. Third Time Fail Rahul Gandhi has reduced himself to a caricature,” Malviya said in a post on X.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also shared videos of Rahul Gandhi and accused him of “heckling” the Prime Minister. Poonawalla questioned Rahul Gandhi’s actions, asking, “Pic1: LoP Rahul Gandhi himself encouraging MPs to break rules & jump in the well and disturb PM speech from very beginning. Pic2: PM Modi offers water even to a protesting MP who is heckling him. Who is the dictator? Does Rahul even deserve to be LoP?”
On Tuesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had named and reprimanded Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of inciting opposition members to troop to the well of the House to protest while PM Narendra Modi was delivering his reply to the vote of thanks to the President’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament.
“It is unbecoming of you as leader of the opposition… I have seen you asking members to troop to the well. Such behaviour is unwarranted on your part,” Birla said.
Despite the opposition’s persistent sloganeering, Prime Minister Modi delivered a strong rebuttal against Congress and its leader, Rahul Gandhi. He accused the opposition party and its supporters of attempting to portray their third consecutive electoral defeat as a “moral victory” and referred to them as a “parasite.” The prime minister also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour, describing it as immature.
Prime Minister Modi strongly denounced Rahul Gandhi’s comments targeting “those who call themselves Hindus,” emphasizing that the attempt to link Hindus with violence was a deliberate conspiracy. He stressed that people would not forgive this action for a long time to come.
