NEW DELHI: Amid the debate over Agniveer scheme, heads of various Central armed police forces (CAPFs) came forward to reiterate their commitment to implementing 10% quota for ex-Agniveers in all constable-level posts, stating that the forces will benefit by getting trained and disciplined manpower.
A series of videos showing the director-generals of CRPF, BSF, CISF, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) underline that arrangements have been made to provide 10% quota in CAPFs to Agniveers upon completion of their four-year stint in the armed forces, were posted on ‘X’ on Thursday.The DGs in these videos mention the relaxations already incorporated for ex-Agniveers by amending the recruitment rules for each of the CAPFs. These include their exemption from the mandatory physical efficiency test as well as age relaxation of five years for the first batch of ex-Agniveers and three years for the subsequent batches.
“All arrangements to recruit ex-Agniveers in CRPF have been made. Agniveers will prove to be an asset as they have gained discipline while being in the Army. From day one we will have trained & disciplined personnel,” said CRPF DG Anish Dayal Singh.
BSF DG Nitin Agrawal said: “We are getting ready soldiers, nothing can be better than that. All forces will benefit from it. Ex Agniveers will get 10% reservation in the recruitment.”
“Union Home Ministry has taken a big step of recruiting ex-Agniveers in the Central Armed Police Forces. In this regard, CISF has also made all arrangements,” said CISF DG Nina Singh.
SSB DG Daljit Singh said the first batch of SSB too has reserved 10% of constable vacancies for ex-Agniveers.
RPF DG Manoj Yadava said: “RPF is very excited to welcome Ex Agniveers. It will give new strength, energy and boost the morale of the force”.
