Delhi police issue traffic advisory due to waterlogging at Okhla Underpass | Delhi News – Times of India


Traffic is affected in the carriageway from Road No. 13 towards Crown Plaza due to waterlogging at Okhla Underpass.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic Police released a traffic advisory on Tuesday for commuters heading towards Crown Plaza, Road no 13. The advisory warned of potential traffic congestion in the area due to waterlogging at the Okhla Underpass.

“Traffic is affected in the carriageway from Road No. 13 towards Crown Plaza due to waterlogging at Okhla Underpass.Kindly plan your journey accordingly.”, read the traffic advisory on X.
Furthermore, the Delhi Traffic Police posted another advisory on X, alerting commuters about traffic disruptions on Rohtak Road from Nangloi towards Tikri Border and vice versa. The disruptions were caused by potholes and waterlogging, making it difficult for commuters to navigate through the water, and heavy vehicles, including buses, were also struggling to cross the road.
“Traffic is affected on Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Tikri Border and vice versa due to potholes and waterlogging. Kindly avoid Mundka and take an alternate route accordingly”, read the traffic advisory from Delhi Traffic Police.
The Delhi Traffic Police also reported that traffic was impacted on Mathura Road in the carriageway from Badarpur towards Sarita Vihar due to a fallen tree near Mohan Estate Metro Station.
In the previous week, Dhaula Kuan experienced severe traffic congestion due to waterlogging, with commuters struggling to wade through the flooded roads and vehicles finding it challenging to pass through.
The waterlogging significantly slowed down traffic in the area, with one commuter reporting being stuck in traffic for three hours. Severe waterlogging was also observed near Ashram Bridge following heavy rainfall in the region.
In related news, the IMD has issued warnings of light to moderate rainfall in various parts of the country, including regions of East and Northeast India, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Mizoram.
