‘Stree 2‘ has been in theatres for more than a month now and even on its day 31, which is the fifth Saturday, the film has managed to make a number which even many new releases are failing lately. The film has seen a gradual drop from the third and fourth week onwards and yet, the numbers are quite impressive.
The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, is now the second highest grosser in its week 4.It now stands behind ‘Baahubali 2′ whose fourth week collection was about Rs 12 crore more than ‘Stree 2’. However, one never knows, as the Sunday number, which is Day 32, may fill that gap. On Friday it made Rs 3.35 crore and on Saturday, which is Day 31, the film managed to make Rs 5.25 at the box office. Now the total collection of the movie is Rs 547.95 net according to Sacnilk.com. The week 4 collection of the movie, uptil Friday, is Rs 36 crore, which is much better than the first week collection of many movies lately.
As of now, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan‘ holds the record of being the highest grossing Hindi movie ever. But trade predicts that ‘Stree 2’ many cross that number by next Friday and beat ‘Jawan’. It has no major competition as of now as ‘The Buckingham Murders’ which released on Friday had a low opening. Though, re-releases like ‘Tumbbad’ and ‘Veer Zaara’ are attracting footfalls in the cinemas.
