‘Batsman hu, batting leke ghar chala jata hu’: Rishabh Pant relives gully cricket days with a cheeky remark | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is currently taking some time off the field, was spotted enjoying a light-hearted game of gully cricket. The 27-year-old, known for his aggressive style, took a trip down memory lane as he relived his childhood days by playing street cricket.
Pant posted a video on his X (formerly Twitter) account where he can be seen engaging in a game of gully cricket with locals. In the video, Pant takes on the role of explaining the rules and guidelines of this informal version of the sport.

Pant showed off his sense of humor after finishing his batting, playfully teasing his friends by saying, “Since I’m a batter, I finish my batting and go home.”
Following his triumphant return to Test cricket in the recently concluded two-match series against Bangladesh, Pant is currently taking a short break from the game.
The wicketkeeper-batsman played a crucial role in India’s 2-0 series victory, particularly with his outstanding century in the second innings of the first Test in Chennai.
This remarkable performance was especially significant for the 26-year-old, as it marked his comeback to his preferred format after the severe car accident he endured in December 2022.
Pant has been given a well-deserved rest for the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, providing opportunities for Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma to demonstrate their abilities behind the stumps and with the bat.
He is anticipated to make his return to the Indian squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand, which is set to commence on October 16 in Bengaluru.
