‘Sonia-Soros, Adani-Modi’: BJP, opposition MPs engage in poster battle outside Parliament; watch video | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition went all out with poster battle outside Parliament on Thursday with the former questioning link between Sonia Gandhi and George Soros, and the latter pressing upon their demand for discussion over Gautam Adani indictment issue.
BJP leader Giriraj Singh protested with Sonia-Soros posters saying “Ye rishta kya kehlata hai (What is this relationship called)”. Party president JP Nadda lashed out at Congress for disrupting proceedings in Rajya Sabha and said: “What is the relationship between Sonia Gandhi and George Soros? Country wants to know.”
“Not just Rahul Gandhi, but his mother and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi is also carrying forward George Soros’ anti-India agenda to destroy the Indian economy and destabilise the country,” BJP said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, the opposition went with ‘Desh nahi bikne denge’ after ‘Adani-Modi ek hai’ protests demanding a joint parliamentary committee on Adani indictment issue.
“INDIA bloc MPs take a strong stance against the Adani issue, protesting in the Parliament House complex. They demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the matter, seeking transparency and accountability,” Congress said.
“The Opposition seeks a discussion on the Adani issue in the House, but the Modi government is avoiding it to protect Adani. The ruling party is deliberately disrupting the functioning of Parliament,” it added.

Opposition leaders including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi have been staging protests sporting bags, masks, t-shirts and jackets which said ‘Modi Adani ek hai’ alleging a link between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gautam Adani.

The opposition has also demanded for the presence of PM Modi in the Parliament sessions.
The Congress party has intensified its criticism of both the Adani Group and the government following charges filed by the US Department of Justice. The charges accuse Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, along with his nephew Sagar and another key executive, of orchestrating a scheme to pay $265 million in bribes to Indian officials.
These alleged bribes were intended to secure contracts for supplying solar electricity, expected to generate a $2 billion profit over 20 years. The Adani Group has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “baseless.”
