NEW DELHI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar criticized Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for showing support for Palestinian cause in Parliament.
Javadekar claimed that Priyanka and the Congress party had not condemned the attack by Hamas militants in Israel.
“Priyanka Gandhi brings Palestine bag, but she and Congress never condemned Hamas terror attack, which started the war,” Javadekar said in a post on X.
Priyanka Gandhi on Monday carried a bag with “Palestine” and Palestinian symbols on it, including a watermelon, often seen as a sign of support for Palestinians, in Parliament house.
Javadekar, in his post, added, “This is the duplicity and appeasement politics practised by Congress.”
Priyanka Gandhi has previously expressed solidarity with Palestinians and criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza. The Israel-Hamas conflict started after a large-scale attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
