Neet aspirants move court at several places over anomalies | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: The Neet-UG 2024 results controversy has intensified with the high courts at Calcutta and Delhi, and the Supreme Court taking up petitions challenging the conduct and outcome of the test.
Calcutta HC has demanded a response from the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding alleged irregularities in the examination process on Friday. A division bench comprising Justices Apurba Sinha Ray and Kausik Chanda is examining a PIL that questions the award of 718 or 719 marks to certain candidates and has ordered NTA to file an affidavit within ten days.
Delhi HC is hearing a petition challenging NTA’s decision to grant grace marks.A vacation bench led by Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma has granted NTA additional time to gather instructions on the issue. This case will be further examined on Wednesday. Another petition, contesting the final answer key for a physics question and the compensatory time given to some candidates, will be heard on June 12.
Meanwhile, a group of candidates has approached SC demanding a fresh exams due to alleged paper leaks and concerns about the test’s integrity. SC has scheduled the next hearing for July 8.
In response to the controversies, the NTA has issued statements clarifying several points.
