The actress further elaborated that she always creates a brief for her appearances, as she enjoys giving everything a story. Describing the Met Gala experience as “a lot of fun,” she highlighted the months-long process of crafting a narrative around the theme. Alia expressed that she instinctively felt a “wispy, ethereal, fairylike, timeless” vibe would fit beautifully with a saree. She added that regardless of the outcome, the choice felt very natural and organic to her.

Alia attended the Met Gala on May 6, stunning in a gorgeous Sabyasachi floral saree. On Instagram, she shared pictures of her look and revealed the immense effort behind the outfit. She mentioned that creating the saree was both fun and stressful, involving 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspeople, embroiderers, artists, and dyers, who collectively invested 1965 man-hours to bring the ethereal saree to life.
