Adithattu – Official Teaser
Although the movie didn’t have a long run in cinemas, the Sunny Wayne starrer received good reviews for its magnificent setting and performances.
‘Adithattu’ was directed by Jijo Antony, and the gripping screenplay was penned by Khais Millen. The visuals were captured by Pappinu and the editing section was handled by Noufal Abdullah.
‘Adithattu’ tells the story of a group of seven fishermen who take on a sea journey with an experienced captain. The plot thickens when the captain is found dead, raising suspicions among the people on board. The movie had a unique plot and setting which is expected to get much traction after the OTT release.
‘Adithattu’ features the actors Shine Tom Chacko, Sunny Wayne, Sabumon Abdusamad, Prashanth Alexander, and Murugan Martin in pivotal roles.
ETimes review for the Sunny Wayne starrer reads, “The film, written by Khais Millen, focuses quite a bit on the fishermen’s work in the deep sea and their personalities, with the story feeling like an afterthought. And that would have been okay, if it was made like a docu-fiction on a fishing expedition. That might even have been quite interesting, because director Jijo Antony keeps our attention to an extent with this aspect. And Nezer Ahemed’s fast-changing BGM, starting almost like that jewel box music with the twirling ballerina to a ‘thump thumping’ tense score, really adds to the overall moody feel. But the very slim story hangs in the air like a smell, and even at 93 minutes, the movie takes its time to move forward. Sometimes you wonder if you missed something between the lines, because you are just waiting for the rough bunch of fishermen, some of whom have criminal backgrounds, to start the action. And when that happens, it goes on for so long, you want it to wind up.”
