‘All cases were fictitious and hatched in Delhi BJP office’ says RJD MP Jha on Kejriwal’s bail – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Welcoming the Supreme Court‘s decision to grant bail to Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, RJD MP Manoj Jha said that all such cases are fake and fictitious and that the BJP hatches such conspiracies in the Delhi BJP office.
“This had to happen. This will happen in every case because all cases were fake, fictitious, and hatched in the Delhi BJP office.Power keeps transferring. Listen to High Court observation in the case of Hemant Soren, read it, and read about today’s case–it is a slap to not just ED, I-T, and CBI but also to those who plot this,” said Manoj Jha.
Further slamming the BJP over misuse of central agencies, the RJD MP said, “So, a clear message has been sent across. Be careful, tomorrow, when you won’t be in power, these agencies will knock at your doors as well. We will feel bad at that time too because there should be no place for vendetta in politics. But today’s decision is welcome. Congratulations to AAP and its legal team.”
Meanwhile, welcoming the bail to the Delhi CM, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the court order had proven that the CBI had acted out of vengeance.
“Today’s newspapers say that around 40 people were made accused and only 2 people remained in jail today, so bail was certain. But what the Supreme Court said about the Centre’s investigating agencies is a major rap for the Centre…With this decision of the Supreme Court, I think if the Centre has any shame, the Union HM should resign. CBI comes under the MHA; the court has clearly said that the premier agency of the country worked with a sense of vengeance,” he said.
However, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva said that the court had termed the arrest legal and Kejriwal should resign on moral grounds.
“Bail has been granted to Arvind Kejriwal today. I would like to say that AAP has become a ‘jamanati club’ and Arvind Kejriwal is welcome there. The Supreme Court has made very serious observations, it said that Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest was legal, and if it was legal then the court is satisfied with the facts and evidence into the excise policy scam that were presented by investigation agencies before the court. Bail does not mean acquittal, it is a court procedure, and everyone gets bail—the biggest example being Lalu Yadav…Arvind Kejriwal too is not an exception. Things are before the court, I think the day he is convicted, Kejriwal and his aides will be punished…We urge that if he has any morality left, he should resign immediately,” Virendra Sachdeva said.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by CBI in the alleged excise policy scam. The Supreme Court said prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty.
Earlier, the apex court had reserved the verdict on September 5 after hearing counsels representing Kejriwal and CBI.
Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22. On June 26, 2024, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by CBI while he was in custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the excise case.
