NEW DELHI: According to the latest CNX exit poll results for Andhra Pradesh, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is anticipated to secure between 19 to 25 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. This projection underscores the continued significance of the NDA coalition in Andhra Pradesh politics.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by incumbent chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, is predicted to clinch between 13 to 15 seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a key ally of the NDA, is expected to secure between 4 to 6 seats, further solidifying its presence in Andhra Pradesh politics.
Meanwhile, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, is projected to win between 3 to 5 seats.
Additionally, the exit polls indicate a potential emergence of the Jana Sena Party, founded by actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, with projections of securing up to 2 seats.
Voting for the 25 Lok Sabha seats of the state was held on May 13 in the fourth phase of elections.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the YSRCP had won 22 out of the 25 seats in the state with a vote share of 49.15%. The TDP was decimated as it could win only 3 seats, despite getting nearly 40% of the votes.
In 2014, Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP had won 15 Lok Sabha seats, while YSRCP had emerged victorious only on 8 seats. The BJP had won 2 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state are Araku, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Amalapuram, Rajahmundry, Narasapuram, Eluru, Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Narasaraopet, Bapatla, Ongole, Nandyal, Kurnool, Anantapur, Hindupur, Kadapa, Nellore, Tirupati, Rajampet, Chittoor.
