Alia Bhatt‘s ‘Jigra‘ has been surrounded with some controversies ever since the film released. First it was due to the casting as many thought that the film was originally supposed to star Katrina Kaif but Karan Johar got Alia on board. Later, actress-director Divya Khosla had accused the makers to inflate the box office numbers while she claimed that the theatres were empty.
Amidst these controversies, the film also may have suffered. Not to mention, it did also get its share of flak for the content. Arbaaz Khan has now reacted to the ‘Jigra’ row in an interview. He told News18, that the industry needs to unite for a common cause. “There is support within the industry. People do their own thing but when it’s time to unite for a common cause, the industry comes together. This industry is pretty much there for one another.”
He further added, “There are groups and camps but that just means filmmakers and actors feel comfortable working with a certain set of people, and that’s okay. But if they need, they will switch groups too. Aisa nahi hai ki woh ussi group ke saath humesha kaam karenge.”
Clarifying his stance further, Arbaaz said, “If a director wants to work with a different actor, they’ll reach out. Filmmaking is such a tedious process and you would want to work with those you’re comfortable with. This comfort stems from the understanding two people share. And if they’ve found success with that combination, there’s no reason to change anything.”
On work front, Arbaaz’s next production is Bandaa Singh Chaudhary which stars Arshad Warsi.
