Bangladesh border force returns ‘abducted’ BSF jawan | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday lodged a strong protest with Bangladesh’s border force, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), over the “abduction” of one of its soldier, who was later returned following a flag meeting, according to the news agency PTI.
Earlier in the day, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sent a message stating that a BSF soldier had been detained for illegally crossing into Bangladesh at the Biral border in Dinajpur, the Daily Bangladesh reported.
The BSF member was taken into custody around 11.30 am.
The Dinajpur BGB sector commander, Colonel Md Ariful Islam, had told Daily Bangladesh that the BSF member had accidentally crossed the zero line into Bangladesh while attempting to chase away cows and goats. He was detained, and the BSF officials were notified.
The soldier was handed back after discussions between BGB and BSF officials.
