Before Triptii Dimri, Shraddha Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, were considered for 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' with Rajkummar Rao

After the huge success of ‘Stree 2‘, Rajkummar Rao will be seen next in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ alongside Triptii Dimri. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa of ‘Dream Girl’ fame and he recently revealed in an interview that he had considered many other actresses for the movie, before Triptii.
The director had considered casting Nushrratt Bharuccha, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and even Rajkummar’s ‘Stree 2’ co-star Shraddha Kapoor as well for the film. However, a report in Mid-day confirmed that the director thought of giving Triptii a shot, to bring in that element of freshness as Rajkummar has already worked earlier with Janhvi, Bhumi, Nushrratt and Shraddha. Rajkummar and Triptii indeed make a very fresh on-screen pair and their chemistry is already loved in the song, promos from the movie.
In a chat with the same publication, Raaj spoke about his unique choice of casting ‘Murder’ star Mallika Sherawat in the movie. He said, “She loved the narration and said that she was waiting for someone to offer her a [strong and fun] character like that.”
As far as the casting is concerned, the director had revealed during an exclusive chat with ETimes, that he did think about casting Ayushmann Khurrana in the movie after working with him on ‘Dream Girl 1’ and ‘Dream Girl 2’. But here’s why he did not cast the ‘Vicky Donor’ actor. “After working with Ayushmann in Dream Girl 1 and 2, while writing Vicky-Vidya we felt Rajkummar suited the role more . It wasn’t like Ayushmann did not suit the role but Rajkummar was more closer to the character. I also wanted to work with Rajkummar for the longest time . Both are fabulous actors and I’m sure in my next film Ayushmann will be there,” said Raaj.
