According to the latest notice, the government has allocated Rs 498.75 for each of the FLN and LEP kits introduced by the Education Department. To receive these kits, students are required to input their Aadhaar information on the e-Shiksha website. This initiative will be implemented starting from the 2024–2025 academic year.

In light of recent changes in Bihar’s education sector, following the dismissal of KK Pathak, the former Additional Secretary of the Education Department, new directives have been issued by ACS S Siddharth. Under these new guidelines, school kits will now be provided to students from Class 1 through Class 12, expanding beyond the previous scope that only included Classes 1 through 3.
Bihar schools get additional holidays
Additionally, the school holiday period has been extended by six days. This extension includes new holidays such as Rakshabandhan, Haritalika Teej, Anant Chaturdarshi, Jeevit Putrika Vrat (Jiutiya), Gurunanak Jayanti, and Kartik Purnima. Notably, two extra days have been added specifically for Teej Vrat.
These adjustments come in response to protests against the reduction in school vacation days from the previous year, as reported by various media outlets.
