Bill Clinton says Trump’s cabinet is about loyalty ‘no matter who gets hurt’ – Times of India

Bill Clinton said he is not surprised at Trump’s pick for the new cabinet.

In an interview with MSNBC on his memoir ‘Citizen: My life after the White House’, former president Bill Clinton said Donald Trump’s cabinet picks are all about loyalty to him, he does not care who gets hurt. “We have to listen to Donald Trump. He’s been very forthright about how to use the law. He’s interested in people who are loyal to him 100% of the time, no matter what the issue, no matter what the facts, no matter who gets hurt,” the Democrat told Jonathan Capehart.
78-year-old Clinton said Trump wants those people who just yes — above everything.”“Second, he believes that his supporters have no confidence whatever in the federal government. And Lord knows he’s done everything he could to destroy that confidence. And he believes he can just say, well, I appointed these people that are smart and they’re going to shake things up.”
“Demonizing all establishments and all people who wear a tie — like you and me, to work — and have a good education, we are breaking down the legitimacy of not only people who may be too sanctimonious and too set in their ways in the past but also people who actually know things that are very important for us today and very important for our continued growth and prosperity and harmony,” Clinton said.
Bill Clinton has also spoken out, in his book, about allegations that his staff damaged the West Wing ahead of his 2001 exit from the White House in a spurn to then-incoming president George W Bush. He opened up that he was not aware of the mischief. “The whole thing bothered me because I had made it clear that I wanted a smooth, cooperative transition and we had done exactly that,” he wrote.
“Within a few days some people finally went on the record to say that either no damage had occurred or that the allegations of ‘W’ mischief were greatly exaggerated.”
China, silverware, and salt and pepper shakers were among the items that allegedly went missing.
