NEW DELHI: Security forces on Sunday recovered the body of a terrorist killed in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation, launched on June 22, was focused on preventing infiltration attempts by militants. According to a statement by the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, “One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing.”
The operation commenced in the Gohallan area of Uri sector after security forces observed suspicious movement of two individuals near the LoC on Saturday.Initial reports suggested that two terrorists might have been killed, but only one body has been recovered so far.
Sources indicate that the security forces are maintaining a heightened state of alert in the area and are continuing their search operations to locate any additional terrorists who may have infiltrated. The situation remains tense, with the possibility of more encounters as the operation progresses.
