NEW DELHI: A Chinese national was arrested in Bihar‘s Muzaffarpur district for allegedly lacking valid travel documents, according to police on Friday. The individual, identified as Li Jiaqi from Shandong province in China, was taken into custody on Thursday near Laxmi Chowk, within the jurisdiction of Brahmapura Police Station, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kumar said.
Authorities recovered a map of China, a mobile phone, and three small stone statues from Li’s possession. The arrest was made on the grounds of his failure to produce essential travel documents, including a visa. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act.
SSP Kumar mentioned that senior police officers are currently interrogating Li to determine the purpose of his visit to India.
