‘Choo kit, kit, kit … and it was 240’: Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee mocks BJP’s ‘400-paar’ claims | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A day after Mahua Moitra, it was the turn of another Trinamool MP to take digs at BJP over the saffron party’s poll performance in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections. Trinamool leader Kalyan Banerjee alluded to a popular game “Choo keet keet” and cited Mamata Banerjee’s popular poll slogan “Khela Hobe” to mock the BJP’s performance of 240 Lok Sabha seats, which was nowhere close to the party’s poll cry of 400-paar.
“They said “abki paar, 400 paar,” but “Khela” had already started. There are several types of games. “Choo kit kit” is also a game. The Choo was at 400 … but how much did they reach … kit, kit, kit … and it was 240. This game also they lost,” the Trinamool MP said mockingly.
On Monday, Mahua Moitra targeted the BJP and Prime Minister Modi and said the party had paid a heavy price for throttling the voice of one MP in last Lok Sabha by losing 63 MPs in these elections. Mahua, who spoke immediately after Rahul Gandhi finished his speech, was referring to her expulsion over cash-for-query charges. Mahua did not spare even the Prime Minister.
After Rahul’s speech, as the Prime Minister was about to leave the House, Mahua called him out and urged him to stay back and hear her speech. She also reminded the Prime Minister that he went to her constituency twice for campaigning and yet the BJP candidate there lost the election. Moments later when Rahul Gandhi also stepped out of Lok Sabha, the treasury benches mocked her to which she replied “He is my LoP. He has already heard what I had to say.”
The opposition has been attacking the BJP with a new-found aggression after the saffron party failed to get a majority on its own and is running the NDA government with the support of its allies. The BJP which had a brute majority of 303 in the last Lok Sabha, could manage only 240 this time around.
