A 32-year-old Dalit domestic help was gang raped in Pilibhit while performing housekeeping duties at a house in a residential colony on March 13. The woman was attacked by her employer and his younger brother, who dragged her into a room and bolted the door. Despite her attempts to escape, the accused overpowered her and threatened her, using casteist slurs.She approached the police to file an FIR, but her request was denied. However, following a court order from the special judge for SC/ST, an FIR was lodged on Tuesday evening. Pilibhit Kotwali SHO Naresh Kumar Tyagi said a case has been filed against the two under IPC sections 376 D (gang rape), 342 (unlawful detention), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), and relevant sections of the SC/ST Act.
