Ryan Reynolds returns to as the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ trying to save the multiverse from impending doom. This forces him into an unlikely team-up with Jackman’s Wolverine. Set in the sprawling, gritty backdrop of the Multiverse Saga, the film explores themes of redemption, friendship, and the consequences of past actions. While this is Reynolds first film as part of the MCU, Jackman picks up the claws once again, after he announced his retirement from the role, following the character’s death in ‘Logan’.
Directed and written by Shawn Levy, the film features an ensemble cast including Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Matthew Macfadyen, Brianna Hildebrand, among others. The film is also expected to feature a number of cameo appearances from Dafne Keen, Jennifer Garner, with rumours of pop superstar Taylor Swift playing Lady Deadpool.
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is poised to be a landmark film in the superhero genre, and at the box office. The film is currently tracking a $350 million opening, if not higher, setting itself up to become the highest-earning R-rated movie of all time.
