‘Devara – Part 1’ Surges at Box Office: Closes in on Rs 250 Crore Mark after Strong Second Saturday | – Times of India

Jr NTR‘s latest film, ‘Devara – Part 1′, witnessed positive growth in its box office performance on its second Saturday, despite struggling to maintain the momentum of its debut weekend. After crossing the Rs 200 crore mark in its first weekend, the film entered its second weekend with lower figures, earning Rs 6 crore on Friday. However, collections saw a boost on Saturday, with the film bringing in Rs 8.7 crore.
Early estimates indicate that the Telugu version of the film led the charge, contributing Rs 5.45 crore to Saturday’s total. The Hindi-dubbed version also performed well, bringing in Rs 3 crore, while the Tamil and Malayalam versions tied with an estimated Rs 2 lakh each. The Kannada version added an estimated Rs 8 lakh to the overall tally.

As of now, ‘Devara – Part 1’ has accumulated an estimated total of Rs 230.35 crore. The Hindi version of the film has been particularly successful, grossing Rs 49 crore, which is notable given that it was produced on an estimated budget of Rs 40 crore.

Directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Devara – Part 1’ features an ensemble cast including Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, and Prakash Raj.

While there were concerns that the film would face stiff competition from the Hollywood release ‘Joker: Folie a Deux‘, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the Hollywood movie has not garnered enough buzz to significantly impact ‘Devara’s performance.
However, the movie now has just a week left to capitalise on its box office success before facing fresh competition from Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ and Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s ‘Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘, both set to hit theatres soon.
