Director Atlee has fans all hyped and excited, not just about the Varun Dhawan actioner ‘Baby John‘, but also about his highly anticipated ‘A6‘. The director, who wrote the story for the upcoming film directed by Thaman, joined the team at a recent promotional event where he got candid about the film and also opened up about superstar Salman Khan joining the project for a special cameo.
Fresh off the success of ‘Jawan‘ with Shah Rukh Khan, the director shared with Pinkvilla his discussion with Varun about a potential casting for a cameo towards the end of the film. “Should we ask Salman sir?” Atlee recalled asking the leading man who was readily agreed.
He then went on to share that soon after their discussion, Varun headed over to Salman’s house to discuss the cameo and the superstar agreed. He recalled his conversation with Varun who gave him the news saying, “He said Ok.”
Speaking about Salman’s generous and caring side, he said, “Salman has such a big heart.” He even shared that on the day of the shoot, he decided to go to Salman and explain the scene. To this, the superstar said, “What? You all are there no? Why do you have to explain the scene, I’ll come there and do it. No problem.”
“I’ve never seen a superstar like him,” he concluded.
He also revealed that the shoot was a great one in which they managed to capture a great action sequence of around 4-5 minutes. Describing the scene, he said, “I can assure u that the theatre will turn into a stadium.”
While he was at it, he also hinted at the possibility of ‘Baby John 2’ being in the works.
During the chat, Varun also teased about Atlee’s next directorial tentatively titled ‘A6’. “It’s going to be out of this world,” the actor said. Director Atlee also teased that fans can expect an announcement ‘soon’.
Reports previously suggested that Atlee aimed to pull off a casting coup by involving either Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan opposite Salman Khan as the lead, promising one of Indian cinema’s grandest spectacles.
Confirming Salman’s involvement in the film, he said, “Definitely, I am going to surprise everyone with the casting. What you are thinking, yes (that’s true). But you are going to really be surprised. And I’m not being pompous, but it’s going to be the proudest film of our country. We want a lot of blessings, just pray for us. The casting is on the edge, and it’s going to happen in a few weeks. We will have the best, best, best announcement coming soon to you all.”
The director said, “A6 is something that consumes a lot of time and energy. We have almost finished the script, and we are in the prep stage. Soon, a bang-on announcement will happen with God’s blessing.”
‘Baby John’ will release in theatres on December 25.
