Disha Patani’s father defrauded of Rs 25 Lakh in Government job scam | – Times of India

Money scammers don’t think twice before committing fraud. They spare none, as all they look for is an opportunity to trap someone. One of the recent victims of such a trap is Disha Patani’s father Jagdish Singh Patani.
According to a PTI report, allegedly Jagdish Singh Patani, retired deputy SP was defrauded of Rs 25 lakh. Reportedly, the scam was committed by a group of five individuals who promised him a high-ranking position in a government commission, shared the cops on Friday, after an FIR was lodged at Bareilly Kotwali police station.
“A case has been registered against Shivendra Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash from Juna Akhara, Preeti Garg, and one unidentified person for cheating, criminal intimidation, and extortion.” “Efforts are underway to arrest the accused and take strict action,” Kotwali police station in-charge D K Sharma shared according to the PTI report.
The complaint states that Jagdish has accused Shivendra Pratap Singh, a person he already knew, of introducing him to Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash. He added that the scammers allegedly promised him a position as chairman, vice-chairman, or a similar prestigious post in a government commission. Patani further alleged that the conmen misled him by introducing an accomplice as an “officer on special duty” named Himanshu to reinforce their false claims of political connections.
Once the accused were able to gain Jagdish Singh Patani’s trust, they allegedly took Rs 25 lakh from him, which included Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 20 lakh through transfers to three different bank accounts.
According to Jagdish’s complaint, he raised concerns when he didn’t witness any progress on the matter in over three months. He was then promised a refund of his money with interest, which he never got. Thereafter, a series of aggressive behaviour and threats began from the accusers, said the police.
