‘Don’t think that AAP needs any support’: Raghav Chadha says party to go solo in Delhi assembly elections | India News – Times of India

Ahead of the Delhi assembly election, AAP MP Raghav Chadha exuded confidence in his party and said that they don’t need any INDIA bloc’s support.
Comparing AAP with DMK and TMC, the AAP MP said that like these regional parties, his party is also capable of defeating BJP on its strength in Delhi.
On being asked if the INDIA alliance will fight unitedly in Delhi, Raghav Chadha said, “AAP is fully capable of defeating BJP on its strength in Delhi.I don’t think that the Aam Aadmi Party needs any support or a partner in Delhi.” He says “I am trying to divide all the elections of this country into two parts. The first category of elections is where regional parties are capable of defeating BJP on their own strength like DMK in Tamil Nadu, TMC in West Bengal or AAP in Delhi. This is the first category of elections. “

“There is a second category of elections where the Congress party becomes weak in front of BJP in a direct flight and is unable to defeat BJP. In this second category, if Congress gets the support of the constituent parties of INDIA alliance, then it can easily defeat BJP but if it moves alone, then it may not be able to defeat BJP. As we have seen in the elections of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh,” he told news agency ANI.
He also recalled the previous elections held in Delhi and said that the polls were held in Delhi three times in a row and AAP formed the government on all three occasions. In 2015 and 2020, “Arvind Kejriwal and AAP formed the government with the biggest mandate in the history of independent India,” he added.
Assembly polls in Delhi are expected to be held in early 2025. AAP won 62 out of the 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections and BJP secured eighth seats.
Earlier today, AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also said that the party would be contesting the Delhi assembly elections alone.
Speaking to ANI, Kakkar said “We will contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone. On one side it’s the overconfident Congress and on the other side, it is the arrogant Bharatiya Janata Party. We will keep our heads down and let our work done in the last 10 years speak for itself.”
