JAIPUR: Virma Ram Jaat, 25, a BEd graduate has failed a number of times in recruitment exams for govt jobs. But he has been helping numerous others in securing teaching positions by acting as a dummy candidate in tribal areas like Rajasthan‘s Banswara, reported.
And, Virma isn’t the only one. Several unsuccessful candidates have helped hundreds of students in these tribal regions clear exams by appearing on their behalf.
The success rate of these dummy candidates is higher due to the reservation quota for ST or Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) categories, probe revealed.
Rajasthan Special Operations Group & cops from various districts are searching for over 100 such dummy candidates in connection with paper leak cases under probe.
Virma was preparing for teacher recruitment exam in Jodhpur two years ago when he came in contact with some people associated with paper leak gangs. He was lured into appearing as a dummy candidate when he failed to crack the exam. He then started his own gang and arranged dummy candidates for others.
TSP areas are notified tribal areas that include Banswara, Dungarpur, & Pratapgarh and parts of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Pali, Chittorgarh & Sirohi. For district level recruitment, ST candidates from these areas have 45% reservation, SC 5% & remaining 50% for other castes. Only locals are eligible to appear in district level recruitment exams.
