NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday took a meme-fueled jibe at Congress pointing out how latter questions credibility of Electronic Voting Machines when it loses elections while credits itself when it wins.
BJP shared a meme with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s image of celebrating the latter’s win in Wayanad bypolls.
“If they lose, they start crying about EVM and if they win, Congress wins… It’s not EVM, it’s Congress’s intentions that are bad!” BJP said.
This comes after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed concerns on EVMs saying, “We don’t want EVMs, we want ballot papers.”
Sambit Patra hit back at Kharge suggesting that if he was dissatisfied with the Election Commission, Enforcement Directorate, CBI, judiciary, and the Modi government, he should take Gandhi and go to “planet Mars” to “live there happily.”
Meanwhile, SC on Tuesday refused to accept a plea that asked for replacing EVMs with ballots. The apex court had remarked: “What happens is, if you win the elections, EVMs are not tampered. When you lose elections, EVMs are tampered.”
