Harry Kane celebrates 100th England cap with a brace in Nations League victory | Football News – Times of India

Harry Kane celebrated his 100th appearance for England with two goals in the second half, leading England to a 2-0 win over Finland in the Nations League at Wembley. This achievement makes him the third England player to score on their 100th cap for the national team, after Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton.
Kane, aged 31, joins an elite group of 10 players, including David Beckham and Bobby Moore, by reaching 100 caps for England.Currently playing for Bayern Munich, Kane is close to breaking Peter Shilton’s record of 125 England caps and Wayne Rooney’s outfield record of 120.
Already the top scorer for England, Kane increased his tally to 68 international goals. Inspired by figures like Cristiano Ronaldo and NFL player Tom Brady, Kane continues to achieve new records.

Kane marked this special occasion by wearing gold boots and leading England onto the pitch with his two children. He received a commemorative gold cap from former players Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.
England’s interim manager, Lee Carsley, praised Kane’s professionalism and consistency. “His finishing is very good, even in training. It’s not a surprise when he scores goals as his habits are so good,” said Carsley.
This victory follows England’s 2-0 win over Ireland, marking Carsley’s unbeaten start as manager. Carsley’s approach contrasts with former manager Gareth Southgate, who resigned after England’s Euro 2024 final loss to Spain.

Carsley’s choice to rely on younger players also proved fruitful, with Lille’s Angel Gomes making his first start and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke assisting Kane’s second goal.
Kane’s first goal came in the 58th minute from a Trent Alexander-Arnold pass, striking from 20 yards. His second goal, from 12 yards out, followed a low cross from Madueke.
Kane received a standing ovation as he exited the game, underscoring his significant impact on England’s football history.
