‘I looked and there was just …’: New York mom finds daughter’s Burger King meal splattered with blood – Times of India

Tiffany Floyd, a resident of New York’s Sanborn, was shocked when she discovered blood splattered on the Burger King kids’ meal she had ordered for her 4-year-old daughter at a drive-through in Getzville around noon on Friday. Floyd noticed the red liquid on her daughter’s hamburger, wrapper, toys, and even on her own meal.
“All I heard was, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I grabbed her bag, thinking that they messed up our order again, and I looked and there was just blood all over her hamburger, all over the wrapper.I looked inside the bag, there’s blood on her toys, everything,” FLoyd told The Post.
“So I instantly told her to spit out her food. She did have fries and a bit of her hamburger. And then I looked at my meal, and there was blood on mine too,” she added.
Upon contacting the establishment, Floyd was informed by the manager, Dan, that a cook had cut his hand and was bleeding, according to a report from New York Post.
He apologised and offered a refund if she returned. Floyd also contacted her daughter’s paediatrician, who advised her to wait 30 days before getting her child’s blood tested for any potential diseases and to continue monitoring her health for a year.
Floyd filed a report with the local health inspector at the Niagara County Department of Health, who confirmed with the manager that an employee had cut their finger but didn’t believe they were bleeding heavily.
Floyd shared her experience on TikTok, garnering 1.8 million views.
Burger King’s corporate office reached out to Floyd on Saturday afternoon, offering to cover her daughter’s medical expenses.
However, Floyd expressed that this was not enough, as her daughter had not eaten since the incident, and her own anxiety had skyrocketed. She also raised concerns about the potential need for professional help for her daughter.
Burger King expressed their deep concern and upset over the incident, saying that they were in contact with Floyd to resolve the matter. The company explained that the incident occurred when a team member injured his finger and immediately stepped away upon noticing the injury.
The restaurant was closed for retraining and deep cleaning by an external company, with plans to reopen on Monday. Burger King also committed to fully paying team members for any lost shifts during the temporary shutdown.
