IIT Kanpur placement 2024: 579 offers made on day 1, including 13 international placements – Times of India


The placement season is in full swing at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), with encouraging trends emerging across campuses. These prestigious institutions continue to attract top recruiters and record-breaking offers, reinforcing their global reputation for producing world-class talent. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has set a remarkable tone for its Phase-I placement season, securing 579 offers on the very first day.
A total of 523 students received opportunities through campus placements and Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), showcasing the institute’s commitment to equipping students with industry-relevant skills. Notably, 199 students accepted PPOs from top national and international firms. Additionally, 13 students earned coveted international job offers, reflecting IIT Kanpur’s global appeal and the exceptional caliber of its graduates, according to the official website.
The inaugural day saw enthusiastic participation from 74 leading organizations. Renowned names like Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Databricks, Google, American Express, SLB, and Deutsche Bank were among the top recruiters, underscoring the unparalleled talent pool nurtured at IIT Kanpur.
The Director of IIT Kanpur, Professor Manindra Agrawal, stated that the large number of offers from leading companies, including a significant number of international placements, highlights the global recognition of IIT Kanpur’s academic excellence and the caliber of its students.
