JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially opened the application window for Class 6 admissions to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the academic session 2025-26.
JNVs are a chain of premier co-educational residential schools affiliated to CBSE, known for their quality education and focus on holistic development.Admission to Class 6 in JNVs is granted through a merit-based selection process called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).

JNVST 2025: Who Can Apply?
Students appearing for Class 5 final exams in the current academic year (2023-24) from rural areas of the district concerned are eligible to apply for JNVST 2025. However, there are specific eligibility criteria based on location and category. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Rural Areas: Students residing in rural areas (villages or towns with less than 10,000 population as per 2011 census) of the district are eligible.
Reservation: There are reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as per Government of India norms.
JNVST 2025: Application Process
The entire application process for JNVST 2025 is online. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Registration: Register yourself by providing basic details like student’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, and contact information.

Documents Required for JNVST 2025 Application
1. Scanned passport-size photograph of the student.
2. Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by a competent authority, if applicable.
3. Domicile certificate to prove residence in a rural area.

5. Proof of appearing for Class 5 final exams in the current academic year.
JNVST 2025: Selection Process
JNVST is conducted in two phases:
Phase 1 (Optional): This phase is optional and held in November 2024 (tentative). Students appearing for this phase will receive separate admit cards.
Phase 2: The main selection test is scheduled for January 18, 2025 (tentative) for students who do not appear for Phase 1 or those who qualify in Phase 1. There will be a separate exam for students from hilly areas in April 2025 (tentative).
The selection is based on the performance in the JNVST exam. The syllabus and exam pattern for JNVST are designed to assess a student’s ability in Mental Ability, Mathematics, and Science.
