Karan Johar reacts to ‘gore misinterpretation’ of sending Alia Bhatt Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’ script: ‘Now it’s truly annoying me’ | – Times of India

Director Vasan Bala‘s recent comments about Karan Johar passing on his ‘Jigra‘ script to Alia Bhatt ‘without his consent’, sparked a wave of backlash against the producer and reignited discussions around nepotism and favouritism in Bollywood.
On Sunday, Johar finally addressed the controversy, urging people not to jump to conclusions based on “clickbait assumptions”. Taking to his Instagram handle, shared a quote which reads, “We have to be strong enough to ensure our life is stable enough to shut some negative people’s mouths.” He posted the picture with a caption that read, “Twitter became X and became my X a while ago… I broke up with the nauseous noise and muted the unwarranted angst… but social media is like the Loch Ness monster—it gets to you even when you can’t see it.”
Noting how he was flooded with reactions to Bala’s interview, which he described as “innocent” and “loving”, Johar slammed the allegations against him saying, “…the gore misinterpretation of his comment about me sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks made me laugh initially at the ludicrousness of it all but now is truly annoying me…”

Defending his director, he said, “Vasan continues to be one of my most talented and wonderful collaborators and if you see his interview and hear his tone you will totally get it! BUT NO … much ado about nothing is all over the place…”
“I fold my hands and tell everyone to please hear and read entire interviews before making click-bait assumptions.Loads of Love to all of you…” he concluded.

During a recent interaction with the YouTube channel ‘Tried & Refused Production’, Vasan who has directed ‘Jigra’ mentioned how he wrote a very premature email to KJo about the idea of the film. However, the director forwarded the email to Alia, which Vasan said in jest that he didn’t like because the email had hygiene issues and grammatical errors.
Vasan’s seemingly humorous statement sparked rumours and allegations that he didn’t want Alia to play the lead in his film.
‘Jigra’, which also stars Vedang Raina in a leading role, is slated for release on October 11, 2024.
