NEW DELHI: Soldiers injured in a deadly terrorist attack on an Indian Army convoy in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir were taken to Military Hospital in Pathankot on Monday.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Indian Army’s 9 Corps. According to defence officials, “Indian Army convoy attacked by terrorists in Machedi area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.The area falls under the 9 Corps of the Indian Army.”
Five soldiers were killed and six were injured on Monday evening in a deadly terrorist attack on an Indian Army convoy in the Machedi area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to defence officials, “Indian Army convoy attacked by terrorists in Machedi area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.The area falls under the 9 Corps of the Indian Army.”
Following the terrorist attack, Indian troops engaged the attackers and returned fire. The defence officials said, “After firing by terrorists, our troops also retaliated.”
Meanwhile, an extensive search operation was already underway to apprehend the terrorists after an Army personnel sustained injuries on July 7 in the Majakote area of Rajouri district.
