NEW DELHI: Chakat Aboh of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious from the Khonsa West assembly seat with 4093 seats.
Khonsa West is a constituency in the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is located in the southern part of the state. It is predominantly inhabited by indigenous tribes such as the Nocte and Wancho.
The constituency is one of the 60 constituencies that form the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and is a Scheduled Tribe (ST) category seat.
The polling for this constituency was on April 19. In Khonsa West constituency, the prominent candidates were Chakat Aboh from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gawang Hakhun from People’s Party of Arunachal, Tangse Tekwa from Indian National Congress (INC) and, Azet Homtok (IND).
In the 2019 election, Tirong Aboh from NPEP won and secured 5,366 votes. Followed by BJP candidate Phawang Lowang, who got 4,311 votes.
