NEW DELHI: In a recent election rally in Dalpur, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath praised BJP’s Mandi candidate Kangana Ranaut saying that she “embodies Meera Bai’s devotion and Maharani Lakshmi Bai’s bravery”.
The UP CM also highlighted Ranaut’s talent, artistry, and capability for hard work, noting her passion and ability to drive development. He mentioned her journey from the mountains to carving a niche for herself in the film industry through her strengths and struggles.
Adityanath urged people to ensure Kangana Ranaut’s victory and highlighted that all four seats of Himachal Pradesh, including Mandi, should contribute to BJP’s aim of ‘400 paar’.
“Today, a single slogan resonates across India: ‘Fir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar’ and ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar’. The nation is rallying for ‘Jo Ram Ko Laye Hain, Hum Unko Layenge’. This election is a contest between Ram Bhakts and Ram Drohis. Ram Drohis are those who support terrorism and naxalism, question India’s identity, obstruct development and rob the poor of their rights,” he added.
The UP chief minister described the current election as a contest between Ram Bhakts and Ram Drohis, with the latter being those who support terrorism and naxalism, question India’s identity, obstruct development and rob the poor of their rights.
He mentioned the completion of the grand Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Kashi and announced plans for Mathura, assuring that the BJP would take the necessary steps to uphold India’s identity. He also highlighted India’s increased global respect under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and contrasted India’s development projects with Pakistan’s struggles with hunger.
Criticising the opposition coalition, Adityanath called the INDI alliance ‘Bhanumati Ka Pitara’ and alleged that the Congress manifesto mirrors Muslim League with aims to impose Taliban-like rule in the country through the implementation of inheritance tax and personal law.
He likened the proposed inheritance tax to Aurangzeb’s Jizya tax and said that India would be governed by Baba Saheb’s constitution, not Sharia law.
Kangana Ranaut is pitted against Congress’ Vikramaditya Singh in Mandi, a constituency that holds symbolic significance for the Congress as a bastion of the Virbhadra family. The polling for the 2024 general elections in Himachal Pradesh is scheduled for June 1.
