PATNA: Launching a scathing attack on the NDA, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Manoj Jha said it was the first time he had heard the name of NDA in the last 10 years.
“For the last 96 hours, the echoes of NDA-NDA have mesmerized me, as I don’t remember when they held an NDA meeting or talked about NDA in the last 10 years. It was only about Modi, Modi and Modi.Democracy can’t work like a narcissist, rather it demands the jewel of unity. Although NDA is establishing their government and we are in opposition too, I am happy that Modi’s majoritarian nature will be limited,” Manoj Jha said.
Responding to the Congress’ remarks of the NDA alliance being Nitish-Naidu dependent, he said, “This is Congress’ analysis. But my point is that it doesn’t matter who will establish their government or win the election, but unity in democracy should always remain prominent. Now, I can assure you that whatever ‘Bhains-Mujra-Mangalsutra’ we were witnessing during elections, now it won’t occur more.
“Instead I am happy for my state, as I feel demands of Nitish Kumar and Tejaswhi Yadav of providing Bihar state ‘a special status’, embedding the increased reservation in the 9th schedule and conducting of nation-based caste census can be carried forward to the central government. Let’s wait for the assignation of the Home Minister and then we will file a petition to fulfil these demands. This time, they need to be flexible in this,” Manoj Jha added.
On Modi ji‘s slogan of ‘New Developed Aspirational India’, Jha asserted, “These are all their gimmick which they play every time. The words don’t matter, what matters is your gestures and expressions. In elections, they were stuck to the ‘M’ letter and recited everything that initiated with ‘M’, including mutton, machi, mangalsutra and even mujra.”
Speaking about Muslim reservation, Jha mentioned, “We did several press conferences and even our leader Tejashwi Yadav asked to analyse Mandal Commission report in which reservation to Muslims on the basis of Article 15 and Article 16 has been recommended. On an academic and societal basis, reservation is granted to non-Hindus, including Sikhs and Muslims. We even showed them a file, but PM Modi and Amit Shah denied these facts just for a few seats and destroyed the peace of the nation.”
He added, “Now, Prime Minister has to decide, whether the Muslim reservation in Andhra Pradesh is societal, academic or religious. NDA’s Prime Minister has to take this decision and he is NDA’s Prime Minister, NDA’s!
On Friday, PM-designate Narendra Modi met the President after a meeting of leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, who elected him as the leader.
