MUDA scam: BJP leader NR Ramesh files complaint against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BJP leader NR Ramesh has filed a complaint in Bengaluru against CM Siddaramaiah demanding an investigation into the MUDA scam issue.

BENGALURU: BJP leader NR Ramesh has filed a complaint with the Lokayukta office in Bengaluru against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others, demanding an investigation into the MUDA scam issue.

Earlier today, R Ashoka, the Leader of the Opposition Party (LOP), questioned the government’s delay in probing the scams, stating, “The Chief Minister has said 21 scams have taken place during the BJP rule. You have been in power for the past 15 months. Why did you take so much time to investigate these scams? We are ready for a probe.”
Ashoka claimed that the officials involved in the scam would have taken only a small portion of the misappropriated funds, while the larger amount has been funneled to Congress leaders in Karnataka and Telangana, where the party is in power.
The BJP’s challenge to the Congress government has intensified the political battle in Karnataka, with both parties trading accusations of corruption and demanding thorough investigations into the alleged scams.
BJP in Karnataka has thrown down the gauntlet to the Congress government, demanding an investigation into the alleged ’21 scams’ that occurred during the BJP’s five-year tenure. The party has accused the Siddaramaiah-led government of protecting those involved in the Rs 187 crore scam in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
On Friday, BJP leaders and legislators held a demonstration at the Gandhi statue of the Karnataka Vidhan Soudha, protesting against the alleged ‘scams’ in the Maharishi Valmiki Development Corporation and MUDA.
The BJP MLAs and MLCs called for the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah in light of these allegations.
The Mysore Urban Development Authority (Muda), formerly known as the City Improvement Trust Board, is facing serious allegations of irregularly allotting nearly 10,000 sites, violating regulations, and potentially causing significant financial losses to Mysuru’s premier urban body. The authority is headed by a government-appointed chairperson and includes local officials.
In response to these allegations, the urban development department has begun an inquiry to determine the facts of the matter. As the investigation progresses, both the public and developers are eagerly waiting for a resolution to the issue and the restoration of normal services.
