Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 6,199 projects of rural roads and bridges under the rural works department (RWD) worth over Rs 8,837 crore during a function held at his official residence at 1, Aney Marg here.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM asked the RWD officials to ensure the maintenance of rural roads, bridges and causeways on a priority basis. He also asked the officials to complete all those road and bridge projects for which foundation stones were laid, on time and ensure quality in the works.
The CM also suggested the RWD engineers ensure regular inspection and continuous maintenance of all those roads and bridges, which were inaugurated so that their quality and sturdiness remain maintained. “Besides these new roads, the RWD officials and engineers should ensure regular inspection and continuous maintenance of all the existing roads of the department,” he said.
The function was attended by RWD minister Ashok Kumar Choudhary, principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena, development commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, additional chief secretary (RWD) Dipak Kumar Singh, both secretaries to the CM, Anupam Kumar & Kumar Ravi and several other senior officials of the state govt.
