NEW DELHI: Ministry on external affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday said that India has no updates on when Sheikh Hasina will leave India.
“We do not have any update on her plan,” said Jaiswal during the press briefing while responding to queries on Sheikh Hasina’s plans after she fled her country and came to India on a short notice.
The MEA spokesperson also addressed the concerns on safety of Indians who are still in the violence hit nation assuring that they are “monitoring the situation” as “situation is still evolving”.”As far as India is concerned, interests of people of Bangladesh are foremost in our mind,” said Randhir Jaiswal.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh is in the process of forming an interim government as Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country amid violent protests. MEA confirmed that diplomats have been invited to the oath ceremony. “Diplomatic community members have been invited to participate and it is likely that our high commissioner (to Bangladesh) would participate,” said MEA spokesperson.
