President’s rule revoked in J&K after almost 6 years, stage set for Omar Abdullah’s government – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir has been revoked, according to an official order, clearing path for the formation of a new government in the union territory.
The decision comes after National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah met with lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Friday to stake claim to form a new government after the recently concluded assembly election in J&K.
The assembly election in the union territory was conducted after a decade.
