NEW DELHI: Amid instances of people making reels and stunt videos on railway tracks, trains and assets posing risks, the railway board has instructed all zones to file FIRs against such persons. The railways direction comes after recent incidents of youngsters making videos on trains for social media posts.
Sources said the board has directed the Railway Protection Force and the Govt Railway Police to adopt a zero tolerance policy against the reel makers violating rules.
In a recent case the RPF registered a case against a man for trying a stunt on the railway tracks by driving a SUV between the stations of Kanakpura and Dhanakya in Rajasthan. An accident was averted as the loco pilot stopped the freight train at a safe distance after spotting the SUV stuck on the tracks.
Earlier the railway police had filed cases and booked several persons for shooting videos on railway tracks compromising safety.
