Schools in UP’s Muzaffarnagar closed from July 26 due to Kanwar Yatra 2024: Reports – Times of India

In an official order, District Magistrate Arvind Mallapa has announced that all schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district will remain closed from July 26 to August 2, in preparation for the Kanwar Yatra 2024, according to a media report.
The order mandates the closure of all primary, upper primary, secondary, CBSE, ICSE board-recognised schools, madrasas, degree colleges, DIET, and technical institutes for the eight-day period from July 26 to August 2, 2024.
This decision has been made to accommodate the large number of devotees on the roads during the Kanwar Yatra.
Additionally, to ensure student safety during the Kanwar Yatra, school schedules have been modified in Varanasi, Indore, and Ujjain. Schools in these districts will observe a weekly closure on Mondays throughout the season and will conduct classes on Sundays.
This year, the Kanwar Yatra is taking place from July 22 to August 6, 2024. In Delhi, the police have recently issued a traffic advisory in view of the yatra. However, no advisory has been released regarding the closure of schools and colleges in Delhi.
