The ‘Celebrate Cinema 2024’ film festival was inaugurated on Wednesday by the renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai. Makers and cast of ‘Stree 2’, which included Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, Amar Kaushik, and Niren Bhatt, marked their presence at the event. Ghai heaped praise on the team for creating a film that brought the audience to theatres to experience mass entertainment.
During a conversation with Midday India, Subhash Ghai was all praises for the horror-comedy film.He shared, “This film has given me a new energy. This type of film is a mass cinema. It is the touch of class. I have not seen it in a long time. Mujhe iss baat ki khushi hui ki pura desh har class ke log, har aayu ke log, har warg ke log cinema hall me aaye aur vo baar baar aaye. Abhi bhi chal rahi hai film aur aage bhi chalne wali hai.”
The filmmaker also expressed the desire to make such kind of film as his main aim is to entertain the audience. He stated, “They are all educated graduates, youngsters. They have made a kind of film which I want to make. I want to make a kind of film where entertainment is the first thing in my mind. Aur main usmein aisa unique kuch create karun. Toh jo ye mass cinema aaya hai uski wajah se hum sabko ek protsahan mila hai. Hum aisa nahi samjhe ki duniya badal gayi hai ya bachche log angrezi bolne lagg gaye hai to american cinema aa gaya hai ya bahut change ho gaya hai. Youngsters mujhe darate rehte hai ki bahut change ho gaya hai. Sir things have changed. Main kehta hu kuch nahi change hua jaake Stree 2 dekho audience nahi humlog nahi technology change hui hai thoda narrative change hua hai. Vo toh pehle bhi tha abb bhi hai.”
Subhash Ghai also praised the ‘Stree 2’ director Amar Kaushik. He also applauded the entire cast and crew of the film. The filmmaker shared, “So he has brought a very big change in the film industry. Stree ke baad 25 filmein aisi aur banegi jo mass appealing hongi. Kyunki without star cast, without too many ornaments, without pump and show ye film apne aap mein apne merits par khadi hai. It’s a directors film, it’s a producer film, it’s an actors film. It’s a writer’s film, you can see that.”
The most recent entry in the supernatural world of Maddock Films is ‘Stree 2’, which was written and directed by Niren Bhatt and Amar Kaushik. The movie, which was co-produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande, features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana, Atul Srivastava, Mushtaq Khan, Sunita Rajwar, Anya Singh and others. It also includes cameos by Tamannaah Bhatia, Akshay Kumar, and Varun Dhawan.
The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor film ‘Stree 2’ was a box office phenomenon. The Independence Day release of the movie clashed with John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’. In spite of competing with two major motion pictures, ‘Stree 2’ has triumphed at the box office.
