Suriya borrows Shah Rukh Khan’s line to define stardom: ‘I would love to work like a dog and live life like a king’ – Times of India

Kollywood star Suriya is gearing up for the release of his action-fantasy movie ‘Kanguva’, alongside Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, and is currently busy promoting the film.
During a recent interview, the actor spoke about the importance of carrying stardom with humility. He quoted Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan’s personal opinion on the matter while addressing a question about being a major star in the industry.

In a conversation with MissMalini, Suriya mentioned that he is fully aware of his humble beginnings and the challenges he has faced as an actor. Despite all the shortcomings, he feels thankful and blessed for every opportunity that comes his way. “I do not think of myself as a big actor or a famous star with stardom. I always remind myself of Shah Rukh Khan sir’s words, which I keep repeating: ‘I would love to work like a dog and live life like a king.’ I still follow that,” emphasized the ‘Ghajini’ actor.
Earlier, the actor explained why he and his family recently relocated from Chennai to Mumbai. He shared that his wife, actress Jyotika, had sacrificed her career for love, family, and their children after their marriage. However, she made a comeback with the 2015 film ‘36 Vayadhinile’ and has since taken on more versatile roles. Suriya believes that moving to Mumbai made things easier for her and has also provided a broader environment for their children to play and study.
Jyotika was last seen in ‘Srikanth’, starring Rajkummar Rao. Meanwhile, Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’, directed by Siva, is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14.
