Tabu and Ajay Devgn are one of the best on-screen pairs in Hindi cinema. The two are sharing screen space for a love-story after sharing screen space for some of the most memorable movies. As ETimes chatted with Tabu, ahead of the release of ‘Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha‘, we tell her that it takes us back in time. All the 90s kids are reminded of their romantic equation in songs like ‘Raah Mein Unse’, after watching the trailer of their new movie.In this exclusive chat, actress reveals why the audience is so invested to see them together on-screen, amidst much more.
Tabu said, “Yes, there is this feeling of nostalgia which ‘Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha’ has. The feeling of nostalgia is what has helped this film. There is a feeling of believability in this film when you see Ajay and me together. That we have met after 23 years and could not be together for whatever reason.”
She further expressed, “People are invested in our relationship onscreen because of they have seen iconic (if I may say), films and characters. Especially, ‘Drishyam‘ franchise in the recent past. Vijay Salgaonkar and Meera Deshmukh are a combination for them. So, it’s easy for people to connect us in any form, be it – ‘Bholaa’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘De De Pyaar De’. We also picked films that will suit where we are at that point in time. Ajay also has the ability of doing different genres and fitting into every film.”

‘Auron Mein Kya Dum Tha’ is set to release on August 2. The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey of ‘Special 26’, and ‘Baby’ fame.
