A model allegedly fatally shot her husband before taking her own life inside their luxury home in Florida, US. The couple’s bodies were found early Wednesday on the balcony of their high-rise condo in what appears to be a murder-suicide.
Police identified the deceased as Sabrina Krasniqi, 27, and Pajtim Krasniqi, 34. They were discovered outside their 45th-floor unit at Beach Club II in Hallandale around 12:30 am local time after authorities responded to reports of gunfire, according to New York Post.
Max Braedlin, a resident living across the street, was quoted by the New York Post saying, “We heard screaming, and it was scary. I heard the shooting, and then, after a few minutes, the police cars arrived, and it was a crowded scene.”
Authorities believe Sabrina shot her husband multiple times before turning the gun on herself. A gunfire detection system recorded at least five shots followed by a sixth after a short pause, the report said.
“Pajtimi’s wife chose to take my brother’s life when she shot five bullets into his chest,” Pajtim’s sister, Albana Krasniqi Munrett, wrote in a Facebook post. “The person he trusted the most, the person he chose to spend his life with, was the one who took it away from him. She betrayed him, his love, and his trust. She shattered my family. My siblings and I will never be the same. I’m terrified my mother will never recover.”
When police arrived, they found a teddy bear, a box of roses, and a television still on inside the home. Blood stains and apparent bullet holes were visible on the balcony door.
Sabrina, a model by profession, was also known by her maiden name, Sabrina Dzaferovic. Both she and her husband were Kosovar Albanian nationals with connections to New York and Kosovo, according to the report.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
